I am reblogging this post, which was written in response to one of my nominations “Refractory Ramblings from the Darkside” in my previous post ‘The Liebster award”. It was very kindly written in honour of myself and a friendship, I am reblogging it to my readers about this WordPress friendship.
The connection was made I believe through Jason of http://aopinionatedman.com/. Jason is very selfless, and always trying hard to help new bloggers get established. When he reblogged my “Smartphone Story”, with Jason having over 45,000 followers, all of a sudden my blog got HUGE exposure. Thank you SO much Jason. That meant so much you would do that.
One of my new followers was the “Refractory Ramblings from the Darkside”. I found out it was a personal blog about Dissociative Identity Disorder or DID. I took 3 psychology courses in college, but never recalled anything about DID. This was NOT a textbook, this was a living, breathing human being, and I wanted to understand and know more.
My 1st post I read was http://ccchanel41.wordpress.com/2014/09/15/i-dont-need-your-absolution-father/. It was powerful and shook me to the core. All too often lives are DESTROYED by people who call themselves “Christian”. As a Christian, this hurt so deeply. I was so helpless. The only thing I could do was respond to the writer of this post in love, no agendas, and unconditionally, hoping that it would be received. My 1st few comments to posts took hours just to write a few lines. I did not want to send any “triggers”.
But I was received SO warmly, this meant the world to me, and has developed in to a very precious friendship. Not only that, I have found that the DID community is SO deeply caring between one and another. The comments at the end of each post are full of compassion and encouragement.
To honour my dearest, trusting, cherished and precious WordPress friendship….CC and all of you……thank you taking me as I am. You have courage, you have strength. I am truly honoured to call you my friend.
Hopefully the stigmas against DID and all forms of mental illness will be broken, and everyone will get the dignity and respect they deserve. Fellow living, breathing human beings.
With friendship love,
~Carl~ ❤
