About
Carl Wright
Ultrarunner, Lay Pastor, and Environmentalist
About
Carl took up running at 55 following his doctors ultimatum to get his health in order. In 2013 he ran his 1st half marathon, 2014 his 1st marathon and 2016 his 1st ultra. To date he has completed 18 ultras as well as numerous marathons and half marathons. Many race recaps can be found under the heading “Running” on this website.
Besides currently being a school crossing guard, he us also a lay pastor/pulpit supply minister at 3 small country churches the 1st 3 Sundays each month. There are a lot of parallels between running and the Christian faith. Every 6-8 weeks Carl will write a devotional based on his Sunday Sermons. These can be found on his blog/website at My Sunday Blog.
With a passion for our planet and the environment, Carl is an ambassador, runner and writer for the 4,300 kilometer Monarch Ultra, a relay that connects ultrarunning and the environment. He has written 49 environmental articles for a company called Busch Systems. Several other of his environmental articles can be found under the heading “Environment” on this website.
